In a story of growth and strategic vision, Bracewell Stirling Consulting (BSC), one of Scotland’s longest-established architectural practices, is marking a new chapter in its illustrious history. As the firm approaches its centenary in 2025, it has relocated its headquarters to Scion House in Stirling University Innovation Park. This move signifies not only a physical expansion but also a commitment to innovation, collaboration, and enhanced service offerings.

The relocation is fuelled by a remarkable 30% increase in staff numbers over the past year, bringing the total headcount to 29. This surge in personnel reflects the company’s expanding project pipeline and its growing success in both the housing and commercial sectors. The new Stirling office is designed to accommodate up to 10 additional team members, signalling Bracewell Stirling’s confidence in continued growth over the next 24 months.

With this move, Bracewell Stirling is also focussing on strategic, urban, and architectural design. The firm has launched a standalone masterplanning service, which has already seen strong demand across the country. To spearhead this initiative, Mark Hamilton has joined the Stirling office as Strategic Design + Masterplan Lead, bringing a wealth of expertise to the team. In addition to the new Stirling office, Bracewell Stirling has also moved to larger premises in Oban and recruited Sarah McKenzie as Urban Design + Masterplanner. She will collaborate with Mark Hamilton to develop strategic masterplans for a range of clients.

Bracewell Stirling recently joined the consultancy portfolio of GEG Capital, a leading Scottish investment company. This partnership has already created synergies and opportunities for Bracewell Stirling, allowing it to tap into a network of over 200 specialists across various sectors and locations. Jia MacKenzie, Director at GEG Capital, highlighted the alignment of values, noting that Bracewell Stirling exemplifies the innovation and expertise that GEG Capital champions.

Meanwhile, Bracewell Stirling’s impact has extended beyond its headquarters, recently providing architectural services for Bayne’s the Family Bakers’ 70th shop in Inveralmond Retail Park, Perth. This milestone celebrates Bayne’s 70th year in business, a journey that Bracewell Stirling has proudly supported for over 30 years. Tom Muirhead, Associate at Bracewell Stirling, expressed his delight in contributing design services to the majority of Bayne’s stores, highlighting the long-standing partnership between the two companies.

As Bracewell Stirling Consulting embarks on its next chapter, the relocation to Stirling University Innovation Park represents a strategic move towards continued growth, innovation, and enhanced service delivery. With a strong project pipeline, a talented team, and the support of GEG Capital, Bracewell Stirling is well-positioned to build upon its legacy and shape the future of architecture in Scotland and beyond.
